Bear Creek Sunday: Feb. 7

BEAR CREEK SUNDAY! Our Ambassadors, Dave and Marlea McAdoo, will share their passion and enthusiasm for Bear Creek at both services. Sunday School for Grades 1 to 5 will be in the Parish Hall starting at regular time. Parents and teachers will report there instead of their classrooms to participate in learning more about Bear Creek, sharing refreshments and activities. There will be a special break-out session just for parents. If you want to get a head-start, you can explore Bear Creek on their website at www.bearcreekcamp.org and on their Facebook page at https://facebook.com/BearCreekCampOfficialPage/.

Adult Catechism – LORD’S PRAYER: Feb. 21: First of three sessions on the Lord’s Prayer, based on Luther’s Small and Large Catechisms

In-depth Adult Catechism classes for folks who are largely unfamiliar with the church or with Christian faith, or those who have just “been away” from the church for a long time, will now be offered quarterly here at St. John’s. These classes are also open to anyone who wants to look more deeply into their faith. The first of these classes is Sunday, February 21 beginning at 6:15 p.m. in the church building. Room is still TBA. Second and third sessions of the course will be determined at the first session. There are no requirements for number of classes attended and classes are both self-contained and interconnected. A sign-up sheet for this class will appear soon on the large bulletin board in the parish hall hallway. Questions? Contact Pastor Ken. Snow date will be advertised closer to the time.
