St. John’s Lutheran Church, Emmaus is seeking a PT Director of Christian Education (15-20 hours per week). Tasks include development and coordination of the Christian Education programs for Cradle Roll, Sunday Church School, Vacation Bible School and Adult education. The DCE is also part of the teams that coordinate and promote our Youth and Confirmation ministries. Salary is commensurate with experience. The Confirmation Classes of 2016 and 2017 will meet from 6:00pm to 7:30pm on the second and fourth Sundays this coming year. Confirmation ministry is for students in grades 6 to 8; however, only students in grades 7 & 8 will meet on Sunday nights. The Sunday School cur-riculum for students in grades 6 to 8 is designed to supplement the class time on Sunday eve-nings and therefore students in grade 6 will still be part of the Confirmation program. Eligible students and their parents will be notified by mail in early September with a calendar and pro-gram for the year. The first Sunday meeting will be September 27th, to which all 7th and 8th grade students and their parents are invited.

A Special Congregation Meeting has been called by the Congregation Council of St. John’s for Sunday, September 20, 2015 at 11:45am, following the 10:30am worship service, in the sanctuary. The purpose of the meeting will be to review needed exterior repairs and vote on a resolution regarding these repairs. Members will be receiving a letter with additional details of the needed exterior repairs, as well as a copy of the resolution to be voted on at the meeting.
