Welcome back to the 2026-2027 Sunday School and Confirmation season! Students Kindergarten through Grade 8 will meet together for a combined session on Sunday, September 13, in Room 3. Please bring your backpacks and plan to attend worship service for the Blessing of the Backpacks. On Sunday, September 20, Sunday School for Kindergarten through Grade 5 will begin and Confirmation will start with a Parent/Student meeting in Room 3.
We will be celebrating one of the great saints of the Church, St. Francis of Assisi on Sunday, October 4. Francis has been dead for over 800 years and yet his legacy of caring for the poor and his communion with nature continue to inspire Christians everywhere. To honor Francis, we are encouraging members to bring in pictures of their pets with the pet’s name starting Sunday, September 20. We will have a board in the back of the sanctuary for pictures. The pictures will be brought forward for a special blessing during the prayers. If you would like to remember a pet that has passed, we are happy to include their pictures also. Beginning on Sunday, September 20 we will be collecting pet food & items for the Animal Food Bank. There will be a dog crate at the back of the sanctuary to donate items. The collection will conclude on Sunday, October 4 with Blessing Our Pets.
Survey results are in and Worship and Music and Church Council met to discuss them. 70 people responded to the survey and many made comments (which were very helpful). Thank you to all who participated. 66% of those responding felt we should stay at one service.
Upon recommendation of Worship and Music, Council voted to stay with one service for the time being. The service will be at 9:30 am as it has been during the summer months. Sunday School times are still uncertain; Educational Ministry will work on that and let the congregation know. Worship and Music has committed to revisiting this issue next June to see how it is working for the congregation.
We know that not everyone will be happy with this decision and can only hope that each of you will try and adjust to this change in our church lives.
